After the Race gaggle launched and tanked up over Woodrat, the Sprinters began launching. Conditions were getting strong on launch. Cycles were mixed with wind and ragged thermals. It was more ridge soaring than thermaling over launch. The gaggle was especially disorganized.
Then five minutes prior to task start time, the task was cancelled. The gaggle flew en masse up the valley to Longsword winery for the compulsory free glass of wine. The wind was moderate, but the air was boaty, and no one seemed to have issues making it there. The Race task continued for a while but was eventually stopped, scoring pilots with whatever waypoints and distance they had achieved until the moment the race was stopped.
